City urged to utilize Wolf Creek plant

The City Commission accepted a 10 000 dollar power supply study urging Chanute Coffeyville and the Wolf Creek Unit 1 project to meet future energy needs. The 1975 study by Burns and McDonnell also recommends buying power from Southwestern Power Administration and notes Wolf Creek could supply about 24 percent of Chanute's and 26 percent of Coffeyville's needs when in service in 1982.

Reward fund started to find teacher's killer

Graham County authorities launched a reward fund to help find the killer of Linda Leebrick, a 23 year old Hill City High School teacher abducted from her apartment and beaten to death. Her body was found near the Solomon River with a fractured skull. Tips can be anonymous by writing to the county attorney or sheriff with a six digit code.
