Max White reported two funnel clouds near Chanute yesterday afternoon, neither reaching the ground. Police logged three calls reporting funnels southeast and east of town, with witnesses including Mrs. Fred Flottman and Charles McCoy. 16 Year Old Chanute Youth Faces Assault Charge
A 16 year old Chanute boy was arrested on an assault charge after an early morning park altercation at Santa Fe Park. He was released on 300 dollars bond and a city court hearing was set for 3 30 p.m. tomorrow. The attacked youth was 18. The incident began when a carload of boys pushed in behind a parked car where a girl friend and the 16 year old were. He reversed and pushed back, then one of the other boys got out and struck him. Both identified the assailant. The complaint was signed by the attacked youth's father.

Two Boys Drown At Osawatomie Dam
In Osawatomie Kansas two youths swept over a dam in the Marais des Cygnes River were drowned while swimming at the city water works.
