Sunken oil rig traps 12 workers

Chanute to Relocate 465 Gas Meters by June 30 Deadline
Chanute plans rapid relocation of about 465 gas meters in residential areas and the central business district to meet a June 30 deadline. Eight-week wait seen for refunds
Kansas Revenue Secretary Kent Kalb predicts refunds will mail in about eight weeks. For the week ending Monday the state expects up to 450000 returns, less than half of the year total. The department has paid 291708 refunds totaling 6.3 million with an average of 28.73 dollars.
