Taylor Will Hold On Governor Republican Gerns Kentucky Title

Two Urbana Weddings Feature Local Nuptials

Miss Eva Hyre and John Carpenter both of Urbana wed Wednesday at the bride’s parents home on West Main Street. Rev D Lawrence of the Christian church officiated in a small ceremony. The couple left forington for an extended visit with relatives. James H Mounce and Ella Biesecker of White Heath were married by Magistrate 8. The couple returned home the same evening.

Wyoming's Governor Takes Stand in Coeur d'Alene Case

Governor Steunenberg again testified before the House Committee on Military Affairs in Washington on March 29. He presented a petition addressed to the secretary of war seeking continuation of the current federal protection plan. The committee met in executive session to determine what to do with the document, and, following Hay's suggestion, it was decided to forward the paper to Secretary of War Root first.

French steamer Georges Croise sinks near port

The French steamer Georges Croise with eighty passengers and a cattle cargo sank just outside Santo Domingo port. Several lives are believed lost. The New York assisted, and the vessel was en route to Cuba.

Philetus Sawyer Dies in Oshkosh at 84

Ex Senator Philetus Sawyer died in Oshkosh Wisconsin early this morning. He suffered stomach and kidney troubles as the primary cause. Sawyer was 84 years of age.

Conference Report Adopted on Diplomatic Appropriation Bill

The senate today adopted the conference report on the diplomatic and consular appropriation bill. The action came in Washington as lawmakers approved the measure after negotiations between the two houses.
