E T Hart of Fairland was arrested Tuesday night by Capt Showalter Urbana on charges of carrying concealed weapons and bootlegging. He fired three shots into the baggage area of a train car but was foiled by the partition. Hart was jailed after capture by Perry Johnson and John McKinney. magistrate Sims set the trial for Thursday. Witnesses claim he sold liquor to a St Joseph man for 50 cents.

The Mine Horror Fifteen Bodies Recovered
Thurmond West Virginia March 7 The mine disaster rescue continues slowly with fifteen bodies recovered by this morning. The mine superintendent says the death toll will not exceed forty though later reports indicate fifty five more bodies below raising the total dead to seventy. A Big Four section crew in the Red Barn area east of Bloomington replaced several rails with new ones after big engines stalled in a snow drift. Renner team runs away in Urbana causing heavy damage
A Renner livery team in Urbana ran away Tuesday afternoon near the University avenue crossing, demolishing a Central box car and causing over 100 dollars in damage. The driver left the team untended for a drink, and the horses started in his absence.
