George W. Burroughs of Savoy died Sunday afternoon at age 88 from age related illnesses. He was born September 12, 1812 in Mercer County New Jersey and moved west early, witnessing prairie settlement. He had belonged to the Methodist church for over fifty years. His funeral was held at the Savoy M E church with interment at Mt Hope Cemetery.

Burial of Robert Wilson in Homer Illinois
