Sycamore Ill Dec 22 the body of Mrs Henry Youngblood a member of one of the first families of Rock City was found hanging to a tree in her yard by her little daughter. The body was frozen and she was subject to despondency. The verdict of the jury was death by own action while insane.

Dwight L. Moody renowned evangelist died at his Northfield home on December 22 after a brief illness marked by Wright's disease. Born in 1837 in Northfield he moved to Chicago in 1856 and rose to national prominence with Ira Sankey touring the United States in the 1880s.
A Mansfield report says Mr. Leach, husband of a previously affected woman, and his son-in-law Mr. Ruckman, who sheltered a railroad worker, have contracted the disease. Local fears grow that smallpox has spread to these new cases.

The program featured clowns, a Signor Blitzkistern legerdemain act, trained elephants, a weightlifting Sandow feat, tumbling by Dr Shell's class, tight rope walkers, and finally Macaroni on a horse, concluding with a strong crowd-pleasing finish.
In Pana on Thursday night the Elks staged a circus that fully entertained attendees for two hours. A successful surgical operation in the inguinal area was reported in the same town, where Mrs. William Summers had 467 pea sized stones removed from her gall bladder. she is doing well.

Miss Minnie Wolf played the Lohengrin wedding march. The couple will live at 910 North Franklin Street, recently purchased and furnished. About twenty five out of town relatives attended.
Mrs Octavia Eoline Holycross tried to take her life Tuesday night with carbolic acid and a razor. Drunken despondency led to the acts but bystanders intervened. The carbolic acid spilled burning her side and she was stopped from harming herself.
Four young woman operators quit at noon in Cairo Illinois demanding a raise from 15 to 20 dollars per month. They gave two days notice but the company refused. The other four stayed at work and service was not seriously crippled.
Edward Starbuck, a switchman for the Illinois Central, was arrested by Officer Botkin in Clinton on a theft charge. He allegedly stole a gold watch and $10 from Mrs. Lillian Pence, a Stewart House employee who sheltered him. The watch and money were recovered, and Starbuck is jailed in default of $200 bonds.
Frank Smith sued the Illinois Central for 5000 damages over a lost leg. After plaintiff evidence Judge Hughes directed the jury to return a verdict for the defense in Mattoon city court yesterday.
Hoopeston Illinois December 22 Dr A J Ingles was fined 25 dollars and costs for failure to report a scarlet fever case. The case was strongly contested but the jury of local citizens returned a verdict within minutes.
West Salem Illinois reports the death of Artie Swartzbaugh, 15, daughter of Jeremiah Swartzbaugh, who hanged herself to a cloak rack in her room on December 22.
