New Christian Church Nears Completion at University Place
The University Place Christian Church at the corner of street and Springfield avenue in a red brick structure with stone trim and white roof is near completion and slated for use when the university opens in September. It spans 92 feet on Springfield and 1857 feet on Wright streets with a 36 foot cornice, housing an auditorium, lecture room, Sunday school, study and parlors, plus basement dining and kitchens. Funded by Champaign Urbana residents including African and Champaign communities, the project will cost about 25000 dollars.
