A United Press correspondent describes 100000 dying of starvation and eight million poor people in dire distress across the eastern Russian provinces. Crop failures drive the hardship as the government suppresses details with censorship.
Senator Jones stated in Washington that he will not pursue the Federal judgeship and remains a candidate for the Senate seat. He met with the President to explain his preference, which removes him from consideration. Other applicants exist, with Poindexter noting no recommendations after receiving Boyd J. Tallman of Seattle’s bid to replace Judge Domworth.
Ortis Hamilton, former adjutant general of the Washington National Guard, seeks parole after a two year term for embezzling state funds.
