Drowning Boy Rescued After River Incident
Raymond Schwartz of Chehalis narrowly escaped drowning Monday afternoon while wading with companions near the Chehalis and Watkuma rivers. A companion’s capsize pulled Schwartz into the water, but 14 M Edwards and three men from the neighborhood pulled him to safety. Nearby officials described a tense rescue as cries cut through the river air.

The Hub City Brick Company completed a new plant to replace the fire destroyed facility. Bricks will be produced starting tomorrow with an 18 000 brick daily capacity and 20 workers planned. The plant, located east of the eastern mill, is under new management by a company formed after taking over J F Alexander and son.
