The Fourth of July celebration is set with diverse committees ready for a full two days of events. Crowds from surrounding areas, a cleared Washington Park, electric lights, and an over a hundred sign near the depot mark the festivities. Key speakers include Hon. Webster Davis, ex-Secretary of the Interior, with races, horse events, a ball game, and various entertainments planned at Washington Park and Centralia Driving Park. Champion ship of the county baseball series set
Lewie county teams Chehalis and Centralia schedule three championship games at Centralia Driving Park. After three prior matches in which Centralia won two, both clubs have strengthened and expect a close series with dates June 20 July 6 and July 7. Trains allow Chehalis fans to travel at noon and return after the game.

Obituary: August Backman Dies Near Winlock
August Backman died at his home near Winlock on Saturday June 15 after a twelve month illness from stomach cancer. Funeral was held at 2 PM Monday from his residence, interment in Woodmen of the World Cemetery. Rev. L E Simmons preached. He was born April 15, 1848 in Vass Finland and came to Winlock in 1886. Survived by daughter Mrs Harry Ontari and Warner, son Carl, and many friends. Winlock Pilot.

Williams as Centralia's financial growth was highlighted by the state bank becoming a national bank and plans for new ventures along Tower Avenue Baznolia Street and Mair Street.
