Lord's Pantry aids 274 in November amid holiday needs
The Lord's Pantry of Leon County reports 274 people helped in November, down from October's 408. Nearby pantries at North Creek Baptist Church and in Marquez contributed to the lower total. Early December totals show 128 served in the first two days as layoffs and Christmas concerns rise. Donations from citizens, schools, and groups are gratefully acknowledged as Food Boxes are prepared for December 10. The Pantry board met December 1 at Centerville United Methodist Church with fourteen members. LaVerne Dunaway appointed January volunteer coordinator. The next meeting is January 5 at Memorial Baptist Church Oakwood. Eagles can't hunt when it's raining.
