Waterloo reports a coroner jury exonerated Willem P. Grant driver of the car that struck Miss Gertrude Swisart causing fatal injuries. The item notes multiple Iowa notices from Waterloo Manson and Des Moines with varied events including factory resumes and local meetings.

Petrie had long served in railroad stock departments and earned prominence in cattle shipping circles. He resided in Lincoln for many years and his death removes a key figure from western agricultural commerce.
Robert Leeper of Iowa City was found not guilty in district court of killing Roz Wertz, his father-in-law. He previously faced a life sentence after a 1930s trial. a new trial was ordered by the supreme court. Leeper will finish a five year auto theft sentence in Fort Madison. Wertz’s widow testified she fired the fatal shots after threats to her life. Leeper, a World War veteran and former University of Town student, thanked the jury.
State Checker Tom Meader of Eldora and an assistant from the state auditors office at Des Moines arrived in Benton county to audit the banks. They expect to spend six weeks in Vinton before completing their work.
