Atlanta May 16. Dr Emanuel Zimarakis sues for divorce claiming his wife abused him after his leg was amputated human. He alleges she refused to care for him and forced him to sleep on a kitchen cot at her brother s home after his operation. He says he gave 4000 dollars and sought relief. A Cedar Rapids message reports the birth of a 10 1/2 pound girl to Horace Rasley at Jeanette. Mrs C D McLean assists at Kirk Dry Goods Co sale.
Washington May 16 The new immigration bill excluding all Japanese after July 1 went to the White House for President Coolidge approval or veto. The exclusion clause passed by overwhelming majorities as Hughes protested. The measure would slash immigration quotas to two percent of the 1890 census with limited exemptions for wives and children of aliens seeking citizenship and for professors and ministers.

The senate committee investigating Senator Mayfield of Texas learned that the Ku Klux Klan payroll at its Atlanta imperial palace ranges from 75.06 to 80000 dollars weekly. J E MacQuinn, assistant treasurer, was excused to prepare the payroll as investigators questioned the vast sums.
The regular monthly meeting of the Modern Entertainers will be held Wednesday, May 21, with Mrs. T. J. Houlihan. Assisting hostess will be Mrs. Elizabeth Houlihan. Two papers will be read: County Officials and Their Duties by Mrs. Mabel Gordon, and Courts and Juries by Mrs. Coca Fleck.

In Befort Wyoming on May 9 16 Charles Henderson 50 and his son Henderson 21 were killed while attempting to board a freight train on the Union Pacific railroad. Both men were miners and carried identification cards.
In October 1921 Remus described hiring James Linton of Columbus to help obtain withdrawal permits and said Jesse Smith acted as a go-between with his law associates. He asserted payments totaled between 200000 and 258000 dollars and that Smith could shield him from jail through influence with the attorney general.
London dispatch reports an unidentified messenger left a box at Dr Wellington Koo’s home in Peking. The box exploded when opened, wounding three servants. the diplomat was not harmed.

In broad daylight on upper Broadway three armed men held up a Goodman & Co. truck carrying furs worth $100,000. They overpowered the driver and two helpers, forced them into a sedan, drove through New York City streets and dumped them before vanishing as crowds watched.
Kia Grove Louisiana May 16 A retired farmer and new store clerk John Collins 55 took rat poison after visiting the mortgage attorney seeking more time to pay his home loan The motive cited was the failure of attorneys administering the mortgage to grant additional time to make the payment Collins died by his own action in his home town residence
The Big Grove Farm Bureau club will hold a joint meeting Monday evening May 19 at the home of Mr and Mrs Harry Zimmer. Program includes songs from Farm Bureau book readings health play vocal duets a nutrition talk and talks by County Agent Heezen. The Try R club girls will sell ice cream and home made candy to raise funds for their club work.
