Des Moines July 20 The Iowa legislature adjourned sine die after confirming Gov Kendall's appointment of E L Hogue as director of the budget. Hogue, a Monona county farmer and ex state senator, broke a four day stalemate by the senate over the budget chief post. Kendall had rejected three prior options before Senate leaders consented to Hogue.
Mrs W M Shelton is hospitalized with internal injuries and multiple cuts after her car stalled on Polk County road and slid back over a 10 foot embankment. The vehicle turned over twice and landed bottom side up, pinning Mrs Shelton. Mr Shelton escaped with minor bruises as motorists assisted and both were taken to Des Moines General Hospital.
