Just-a-Mere club plans reunion picnic at Wiknington school

Wiknington school district Just-a-Mere club and families met at the school house last Wednesday to organize a reunion picnic for next Thursday on the school grounds. Forty-one attendees enjoyed ice cream and cake. Also noted are visits and stays by local residents Mrs Emma Rice improving after a illness, Martha Todd visiting from Center Point, Col and Mrs Gee Beebe on Des Moines business, Mrs Chas Cress visiting family at Prairie Creek, and visits by Mrs Starbird and Miss Starbird See Falls with Ralph Remner's family and Charley Garwood of Winter.

Child Charley Brough underwent appendectomy at Vinton hospital. A daughter blessed Rev Seth Huntington home July 21, third child, second girl. Charley Irons and family plan a Minnesota auto trip. Ther Tay heads to Washington. J P Davis group visited Vinton and Harve Davis home. Roy Davis returned home with them. Monday storm produced hail half the size of an egg. Mesdames Chas Parcell and Richard Thomas left for Des Moines to attend the Pythian Sisters lodge. Mrs James Grayson visited from Garrison. Grayson to Long Beach with Newton Dingman. Two weeks in Michigan City for Frances Miller s mother and sister Mrs Hoffman. Miller s mother improving.
