Coralville's Mill Industry A Pittsburgh That Didn't Make It
Coralville built a thriving mill economy from 1844 onward with flour corn meal paper and woolen mills powered by water. By 20th century mills burned or closed and town power rights passed to a utility, ending Coralville's bid to become the Midwest Pittsburgh.
