American Olympic Boxer in Hospital After Blood Transfusion

Patsy Ruffato of Yonkers a member of the American boxing team is in serious condition with ulcers of the stomach. A blood transfusion was required and all team members volunteered to donate. Doctors say the transfusion will weaken him too much to compete in the Olympics. The operation is planned for tomorrow at the American hospital. Flyweights Sarron and Fee fought a tough sparring session with equal honors. Final elimination bouts set for tomorrow.

Injured Watchman at Large Mansion Dies

Chicago July 1 Joseph Carney a 61 year old watchman at the Lawn residence of Mrs Edith Rocke feller McCormick died in a hospital from a bullet wound suffered in a mysterious shooting at the McCormick home. Police had not reported the shooting until today. Carney was taken by a chauffeur for Mrs McCormick and refused to discuss the incident, which was believed accidental.
