Iowan Claims Booth Worked for Father in Oklahoma Store
Nes Moines Iowa, 25 30rs. Frank Datkis, 33, tawishes came forward with a tale that John Wilkes Booth, Lincoln’s killer, worked for her father Nye Johnston at Apache Oklahoma. Mrs Dallas recalled moving in a covered wagon from Ringgold County to Apache, where her father opened a grocery store and built a town. A man named George allegedly "pathed" the house for the father. They worked for years, and in 1903 rumors spread of a man who poisoned himself at Enid Oklahoma claiming to be Booth. The embalmed body was kept for years as a curiosity. In 2005 the family visited Enid and saw the preserved corpse, said to be Booth.

Washington February 25 Coroner Nevitt said heart disease caused Senator Medill McCormick of Illinois to die suddenly at a hotel. He was found dead in bed at 10 a.m. after a late breakfast and had been seen around 8 o'clock.
