London dispatches report a late night agreement granting Ireland the Irish Free State within the empire while Ireland pays Britain’s debt. Sinn Fein rejected Lloyd George’s terms but Ulster’s ratification seems likely, ending decades of Irish conflict for now.
Mr Middleton, a respected farmer and speaker, addressed a large audience of farm bureau men on cooperative warehouses and regulated marketing to aid grain growers.
