In Shenandoah on an April day Ted Lubin a Yorktown farmer found a thief Charles Campbell 46 dead by suicide in the barn loft Campbell had a somber plan a sun survived him. A bank roll suggestive of wealth was noted.
April 8 report says detectives found to have hung Abraham Lincoln High principal G. W. Kir in effigy would be barred from attending public schools. Mr. Kim objected and urged dropping the matter. In Centerville a local man, Trailer Castor, near death after swallowing strychnine following his wife’s refusal to remarry him. he and his wife's parents live nearby and a physician is treating him.
Frank Hin Barn Equipment Co of Monticello is declared bankrupt by Judge George S. Scou in federal court on the petition of local creditors. Monticello State Bank recently bought the assets. court overruled a motion to dismiss the petition. Liabilities are 175000 with assets about 90000. Police report a farm home near Monticello was robbed when two men attacked and blindfolded a woman working in the garden. nothing of value was taken.
In Chicago April a court awarded the alleged crime trust an impounding order for books and records seized during a police raid. The order places the records in court custody, contending the raid lacked a search warrant and the removal of office equipment amounted to ordinary thievery, delaying sensational disclosures.
The forecast calls for mostly cloudy conditions tonight through Thursday with probable showers and local thunderstorms except in the extreme west. Temperatures will be slightly cooler in the northwest tonight.
