Two express air planes on the London to Paris service collided in midair over Tilley and fell flaming to the earth. All seven aboard, including two pilots a mechanic and three passengers, died as flames engulfed the wreckage. The crash occurred about 75 miles from Paris near the English Channel.

United Press report from Washington details documents alleging the Alabama Farm Bureau Federation was offered a $2.5 million bribe to organize a company to lease Muscle Shoals nitrate plant No. 2 and block Henry Ford’s bid to lease the project. Ray C. Bishop, secretary, says General R. E. Steiner approached him with the plan, promising fertilizer supply and a $2.5 million contribution to the federation.
Des Moines based Bankers Life Insurance recaptured 18000 dollars paid to the widow of Harold E B Roy, a New York dentist who vanished March 17 1921 during a Hudson River canoe trip. After a year he surfaced in Los Angeles, and later in Kansas City, tracing a calendar scene to reality. The widow returned the policy plus interest to the insurer.

Des Moines April Harry Woodruff was found not guilty of second degree murder by a jury here today in the killing of George Lawrence Tracy on February seventeenth after an alleged attack on Woodruff's daughter.
