Cedar Rapids Faces County Seat Battle and Bond Debate
A Cedar Rapids meeting opposed Marion in the Linn county seat dispute. Speakers argued Cedar Rapids will back bonds to keep the seat, criticize Marion’s push, and pledge no county expense for new buildings while Cedar Rapids claims shared county benefits and warns of strict legal rights and pledges if the seat moves back.
County seat battle turns on ballot box vote in Linn County
Citizens of Linn County debate whether to relocate county buildings to Marion or reinforce Cedar Rapids. A pro removal camp argues for ballot choice as fair, while anti-removalists accuse Cedar Rapids of misrepresentation. The letter notes bonds and legal steps, urging voters to decide finally at the polls.
