Reverend R J Cross calculates that 40 000 licensed liquor saloons laid out in a row with twenty feet each would stretch 530 miles. If placed on a street with saloons on both sides the length would be 200 miles. He says this calculation makes the ravages of the destroyer fearfully palpable.
