A Pledee With Reasons For Temperance

A 19th century temperance pledge lists reasons to abstain from intoxicants tobacco profanity and gambling. It cites biblical verses to condemn alcohol use profanity and gambling, calling alcohol a poison and a gateway to crime while stressing self control and moral conduct.
