Flood relief mural brightens Trinity United Church recovery
Cedar Rapids residents led by Dan Alpers painted a 30 by 20 foot mural on the church wall marking renewed activity after the 2008 floods. The artwork centers on the restored church building and neighborhood renewal as Trinity United Methodist plans to resume services and reopen facilities by autumn. The mural accompanies a reopened Trinity Lane Preschool and a restored playground with plans for new equipment by November.
