Sen. Tom Harkin called Ted Cruz 21 hour speech a distraction as Cruz and 99 allies moved forward with a continuing resolution to defund Obamacare. Harkin said the tactic is ineffective and noted fellow Republicans are growing weary of Cruz’s long floor remarks.
The U S government delayed small business enrollment to Nov 1 and Spanish language online enrollment to between Oct 21 and 28 for Obamacare. Officials stressed other online enrollment remains available on schedule while critics warn the pause could hinder signups and Hispanic outreach. The plan still aims to enroll millions and keep the program on track despite GOP opposition and technical hurdles.
