It discusses high projected outlays, tax shifts, increased national debt, and a Democratic shift toward endorsing a third term, warning of unprecedented federal power over citizens.
The piece argues a crafty politician could seize endless office by exploiting powers over media, licensing, and enforcement. It warns of suppressing newspapers radio coverage and Congress opposition through wage law tactics and propaganda, unseen by most voters who trusted Fortune's judgment.
Pundits warn that the belief in democracy may falter due to a single dominant attitude seen as silly and outworn. They note elections continue in Germany and Russia, illustrating contested political climates.

The new location features full women’s wear lines and enhanced departments with additional staff and Neo-classic Aspen fixtures.
The poem notes campaign traditions fading from baby-kissing to a modern spectacle of candidates courting crowds. It contrasts old torchlight processions with televised appeals and radio speeches while praising the ballot as the true mark of a free people.
