Light the Night Walk draws 1000 plus in Iowa City
More than 1,000 people joined the fourth annual Light the Night Walk to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Campaign manager Ann Conkin reported about 75,000 in pledges with more donations and a silent auction to come, aiming for 109,000. The turnout surpassed expectations from last year. The event started at the University of Iowa Athletics Hall of Fame and finished at Walgreen’s on Highway 6 with lighted balloons commemorating those affected by blood cancers.
