Cedar Rapids council backs I-380 interchange opening

The Cedar Rapids City Council voted 3 2 to urge the Iowa Department of Transportation to open the 42nd Street interchange this fall. If approved this would align with the new road segment from 32nd Street NE to Boyson Road in Hiawatha, slated to debut about November 1. The move counters a five year old pact delaying the opening until Highway 100 completion. The Highway 100 segment is expected to open in 1984.
