Renewal Board Bids On Land For Urban Renewal Projects
Cedar Rapids urban renewal board recommends the council accept bids from four firms for parcels at F avenue and Vernal street NW Second avenue and Second street SW and the 200 block of Second street SE. Kinney Bader, First Federal, Smulekoff and Southeast Investment cited for parcels as sites for a hotel, parking lot, store, and office building. Additional four parcels slated for sale after HUD review include sites on First street SE First avenue SE between Tender Trap and shops and a light industrial block between G I avenues Fourth and Second streets SW. Peoples Bank plans redevelopment and parking lot conversion at Third and Second streets.
