Cedar River flood crest eyed for Tuesday in Cedar Rapids
Cedar River in Cedar Rapids is forecast to crest at 17.5 feet around 8 p.m. Tuesday, up from a 17.4 feet projection. Major flood stage is 16 feet, with water expected to exceed that level tonight before receding by late Wednesday. City protections remain in place for floods up to 16 feet and can be expanded to 18 feet with above-ground barriers if needed.
