Wisconsin shipwreck hunter helps seal fate of Mojave site
Steve Radovan's 2016 dive revealed the Mojave, a three masted barquentine with 19,500 bushels of wheat, sunk in 1864 near Lake Michigan. The find fuels a NOAA push for a national marine sanctuary off Manitowoc, Sheboygan and Ozaukee counties, to protect sunken vessels from mussel encrustation and ongoing deterioration.
