At the Rouge complex in Dearborn Michigan United Auto Workers Local 600 voted 57988 to 3033 to approve a 34 month contract that cuts wages and benefits by 4 per hour for about 4000 steelworkers. Strangulation ruled accidental in Mentzer death
The Linn County medical examiner ruled the death of 67 year old Elme M Mentzer at 325 Second Ave SE an accidental strangulation. Mentzer was found dead at his home Thursday morning by an exterminator who notified the apartment manager and then police.

Storm Lake 4 year old killed in farm tractor accident
Caleb David Stille 4 died on his parents farm in Storm Lake Buena Vista County Iowa after a tractor backed out of a barn ran over him. The incident occurred when his father David Stille operated the tractor and the boy apparently sought a ride. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
