Lawyer Claims Berets' Calls Mail Monitored
In LONG BINH South Vietnam AP a lawyer for three defendants in the Green Beret murder case accused the army of monitoring their private telephone conversations and mail. Henry Rothblatt said the army command in South Vietnam prejudiced any possibility of a fair trial and would seek dismissal or transfer to civilian court. He also sought return of Chief Warrant Officer Edward Boyle to the U.S. arguing his tour ended. Rothblatt said telephones are tapped and mail interfered with, denying defendants fair legal access.
