Jackson Mississippi hit 74, setting a new daily low maximum, while Brownsville Texas logged 88, ending a 118 day stretch under 90. Thunderstorms persist in southern Florida and scattered showers stretch from the Great Lakes to the Atlantic coast and into the central Rockies. Southwest Texas and the Inland Southwest will see extreme temperatures in the 90s to 100s.
