Salaries absorb school aid boost in Iowa argues ITA
Iowa Taxpayers Association argues that state aid increases since 1967 have fully absorbed higher teachers salaries and much more. From 1966-67 to 1969-70 the total salary cost grew from 215.7 million to an estimated 334 million, while state aid rose from 41.4 million to 149.5 million. The group urges legislative control over districts to curb spending.
