U S signs breakthrough gas deal with Mexico

President Carter announced a seven month negotiation ended with a deal to buy Mexican natural gas. The plan calls for 300 million cubic feet per day or more at an initial price of 3.625 per thousand cubic feet. The gas will be imported by a U S pipeline consortium and priced against world crude oil.
