Susan Lensing, 48, died in a car crash three miles south of Calmar on highway 151. Her auto skidded off a curve, rolled, and she was thrown from the vehicle at 6 05 am while en route to her job at the Red West restaurant in Calmar. Survived by her parents and 12 siblings. Pilot blamed in Blue Angel crash at Cedar Rapids air show

The Pentagon said Christensen failed to depress the landing gear handle, causing the 11 ton jet to crash after skidding across the Cedar Rapids runway. The $8.5 million aircraft was wrecked beyond repair and internal equipment removed. Christensen, 27, of Annapolis, survived with back spasms and was released from Mercy Hospital after an overnight stay. Final disciplinary action remains pending, with mitigating factors including a malfunctioning afterburner and wind.
