Rocket Ships Guard South Vietnam Outposts With Formidable Fire
Aboard the Carronade, eight rocket launchers fire 6,000 rockets in 15 minutes to defend outposts within 10,000 yards. Lt. Stephen Puncan credits the rockets with saving positions from Viet Cong advances while Lt. Cmdr. Roy McCoy leads Division 93. Navy gunfire also includes eight destroyers and a cruiser patrolling 1,000 miles from the 17th Parallel southward.
