Linn Penford reach truck compromise in Cedar Rapids
Cedar Rapids weighing a compromise on Penford truck staging near the plant and Linn County offices. If approved by the city, Penford will shift a truck staging area by year end, converting an employee lot at First Street and 10th Avenue SW into space off 10th Avenue SW. The plan includes a half block of 10th Avenue SWone way west with an island and a rebuilt road at Penford expense. Eastbound traffic to the county lot would still access both entrances but not to First Street SW. Penford would relocate staging from 1996 lease site, amid neighborhood group complaints, with final city approval pending.
