Denny Burns Wins 3 Games in 3 2/3 Innings for Barons
In 1932 Denny Burns joined the Birmingham Barons to relieve stressed starters. In his first game May 12 he beat Memphis 7 6 and two days later earned two more wins in a two game doubleheader against Little Rock. He totaled three wins in 3 2/3 innings with one run and three hits allowed. A separate note highlights David J. Cook of Remsen Iowa famed for husking over 130000 bushels in a lifetime and a 92 bushel three hour feat in 1919 earning him the nicknames Husky Cook the Husker.
