Eastern Iowa Dog Trials Yield Many Prizes at Matsell’s Bridge
Outdoor Roundup notes Linn County dogs dominated the Eastern Iowa Hooting Dog Association trials on Saturday with Open Shooting Dog and Open Derby winners led by Pard and Mark’s Magnum. Amateur divisions also crowned champions while one two day meet faced fewer entries due to a Illinois field trial conflict. A separate Montana endrin contamination concern was addressed by Al Farris of Iowa Conservation, indicating minimal risk to Iowa hunters as sampling shows lower residue after proper bird cleaning. The Office of Price Stabilization also targeted packers for cattle price ceiling violations.
