Nixon May Visit Iowa Districts During Campaign Swing
Vice-president Richard Nixon may return to Iowa for a one day swing through the First Second Third and Fourth districts next month. The itinerary would start in Ottumwa then Cedar Rapids Waterloo and stop in the Fourth First Second and Third districts. Windstorm Rips Newhall Leaves Uprooted Trees
A tornado like windstorm struck Newhall Benton county Sunday evening ending near 5 p m. It cut a four block path through the western part of town and into the country uprooting trees and causing power outages. A line fell between Grover s garage and the Joe Kramer residence and firefighters guarded it until repairs. Rain fell fast with an inch and a half in ten minutes. Upward of several trees fell in an orchard and at Don De Klotz s farm a large tree split in two. A tin roof was torn off a corn crib at Richard Stein s farm two miles west. The wind pushed a hay rack away from a barn at DeKlotz. Continued on Page 3 Col 4.

Plane Blast Over Guam Knocks Out Dozens On Flight
A World Airways DC-6B transport crashed on Mt Barigada near Agana Guam killing at least 77 people. Seventeen survived initial wreckage with 2 in critical condition and 14 seriously hurt. The plane had refueled at Guam after departing Clark Air Base and is under investigation by Civil Aeronautics Bureau officials.
