Auditor approves 19 of 26 petition sites near UI campus
Johnson County auditor approves 19 of 26 sites for a 21 and under rule near the University of Iowa, with Kirkwood Community College hosting one. The anti 21 only group Yes to Entertaining Students Safely sponsored 20 sites, as the ordinance restricts under 21 entry after 10 pm, down from 19. Restaurants may qualify for exceptions if most revenue comes from nonalcoholic services, and student opposition could drive voter turnout.
