Chevrolet reports rising August sales and lean stock levels
H J Klingler of Chevrolet Motor Co notes August sales of 29,230 new cars and trucks, up from 26,549 in July. Each ten day period in August showed gains, the last ten days totaling 12,126 versus 11,843 in July. The firm ends August with a 10 percent gain over July, but field stocks of new and used cars are sharply reduced, with used cars at historically low levels for the season.
