Court employees furloughed for day in state plan
State workers at county courthouses are off for the second of ten furlough days to save money. The shutdowns will save about 277000 dollars per day. The plan trims five million from the judicial branch budget and includes the Supreme Court and 56 juvenile court services offices. Courthouses stay open with limited functions. Additional furlough days are scheduled on Oct. 11, Nov. 12, Dec. 10, Jan. 28, Feb. 21, March 25, April 22 and May 27.
