Iowa Farmers Face Propane Shortage Risk in 1973 Drying Needs
An Iowa State University study estimates farmers will require about 113 million gallons of propane to dry corn and soybeans this year, a figure reflecting an 18 percent rise from 1972. Prof. Rubert Wisner notes federal priority allocations may preserve supplies but warn tight stocks could bite into next year's production with more land brought into use and 20 percent more propane expected to be allocated in 1974.
