Runaway Navy Blimp Drifts Six Hours Over Busy Air Routes
In Brunswick Georgia a Navy blimp escaped control and drifted unmanned for about six hours along the New York to Miami air corridor. It settled near Glynco Naval Air Station after tanks ruptured from a hard touchdown and crew released helium to lighten the craft. Engines then failed and the crew abandoned the airship.
