UI Sues Former Doctor Over Non compete and Enrichment
The University of Iowa and the state Board of Regents sue former internal medicine and rheumatology physician Bogdan Cherascu for violating a two year non compete within 50 miles of UI and for unjust enrichment. Cherascu now works at Physicians' Clinic of Iowa in Cedar Rapids affiliated with Mercy and St. Luke's. The suit seeks payment of liquidated damages and notes UI damages from his departure. Johnson County votes to sell a building for 1 to house non profits including Domestic Violence Intervention Program and NAMI Johnson County with $800,000 needed for renovations and a projected start in October for the 1105 Project.
