A 75-voice Cedar Rhapsody Chapter Sweet Adelines concert at Sinclair Auditorium drew a packed crowd. Motorcycle Crash Leaves Man Injured Near Atkins
A 24-year-old Shellsburg man, Curtis Donald Lester, was listed in serious condition at St Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids after a Saturday motorcycle crash near Atkins in Benton County. Loaded gun found in car leads to juvenile charges in Vinton
Two LaPorte City juveniles were arrested in downtown Vinton Saturday night by Benton County sheriff's deputies and released to parents. Officials said a loaded .22-caliber handgun was found under the driver's seat. One youth faced charges for carrying a concealed weapon, failing to stop for a stop sign, and possessing an open alcoholic container. The passenger was charged with possession of an open alcoholic container.
